Quinta Quinoa Power Breakfast Bowl

Do you need an energy boost in the morning? This quinoa bowl is full of protein, vitamins, and delicious energy for you! Yes, we are porridge fans!

Ingredients:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • 1/2 cup of Quinta® Quinoa (don’t cook it yet!)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
  • 1 and 1/4 cups of unsweetened almond milk/coconut milk ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (you can use honey if you prefer, but we are Canadian- eh!)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter (or another kind of nut/seed butter you like)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

For the topping you can use almost any fruit, cereal and nuts you like, today we used:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • 1 banana⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
  • 1/4 cup of sliced almonds⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
  • 1/4 cup of coconut flakes⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Preparation:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

1. Today we are going to cook the quinoa a bit different: rinse the Quinta® Quinoa, then put the quinoa and the milk you’ve chosen into a heavy-bottomed saucepan. Bring it to boil, then reduce heat to simmer for 15 minutes. Stir it occasionally, and when the quinoa is cooked, add the butter, cinnamon, and syrup⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Transfer to two bowls and top them with sliced banana, almonds, and coconut flakes⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
