Quinta Quinoa is a growing Canadian company that invests in Human Health and the Circular Economy while directly satisfying 12 of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Develop Goals. Quinta Quinoa was originally naturally developed in Ontario, but has now been grown locally across 5 provinces: Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba
In 2007, founder and CEO Jamie Draves was diagnosed with idiopathic pancreatitis. A rare condition without any known cause, cure or treatment. After losing a third of his pancreas and two surgeries, he built his own healthcare team and adopted a mantra of a ‘healthier today than yesterday’. Together they formulated a health plan, keeping to a very strict diet, in which quinoa was a staple. That was the beginning of his pathway back to health and was the trigger event to drive his passion and pursuit to develop the highest protein and nutrient quinoa on the market.

Dragons’ Den Alumni – Season 9
On Wednesday, March 11th, 2015 Katan Kitchens/Quinta Local Superfoods took on the Dragons on Dragons’ Den on CBC Television. There was an overwhelming amount of interest from the Dragons, but in the end, one Dragon came out on top, striking a deal with Jamie Draves, CEO of Quinta Quinoa.
