Meet Trevor Caron – a producer in Chatham-Kent who has worked with us growing Quinta Quinoa for over 2 years. He has been farming his entire life and has had his own farm since the age of 18! There is good money to be earned in farming tomatoes, says Trevor about his favourite crop. We hope our Quinta Quinoa crop is a close second favourite!
Trevor first decided to try growing Quinta Quinoa back in 2014 as a way to try out a new, innovative crop. Since then he has found that the crop improves each year and he enjoys the challenge it offers. Trevor also has some vegan influencers in his life that enjoy quinoa on a regular basis, providing another reason his interest in the crop continues.
The number one challenge Trevor sees the agriculture industry facing is unpredictable weather. The hot, dry summer we’ve been having is a perfect example of this. Trevor sees disease as the second largest challenge in the industry and works to produce high quality crops despite these challenges.
