Cochrane born and raised Jamie Draves who is the President and CEO of Katan Kitchens will be entering CBC Dragons’ Den on Wednesday March 11th at 8pm to seek funds for the development of a gluten free processing facility in Northern Ontario in order to clean their quinoa varieties called Quinta quinoa for sale in North American and global markets.
“It is our intent to have the facility in the Cochrane District because it makes good business sense and my heart is still in the north,” said Draves who now lives in Georgetown ON.
Draves said he has spent the past four years spearheading and leading the development of local quinoa after dealing with his own health issues which started back in 2007 and resulted in him losing a third of pancreas due to atrophy.
